Mrs. Paul (Esther) Ritts, 67, Washta, died today at St. Joseph's Hospital, Sioux City, after a long illness. She had been a resident of the Washta area all of her life.
Esther Vierena England was born Oct. 29, 1906, in Washta. She married Paul Ritts on May 30, 1942, at Freemont, Neb.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; a son, Richard Shepherd, Sioux City; her mother, Mrs. Olive England, Sioux City; a brother, Howard England, Hinton, Iowa, and sisters Mrs. Chris (Frances) Fischer, Shelton, Wash., and Mrs. Jack (Neva) Fischer, Pierson.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Washta United Methodist Church with the Rev. Melvin Reth officiating.
Burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery, Washta, with Boothby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
