Forrest P. Alford (Al), 89 passed peacefully from this life on June 9, 2013. He was born in March, 1924 in Hartwell, GA.

Mr. Alford proudly served his country as a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Athens Business College where he was a member of CHI PSI Fraternity. His affiliations included the American Legion, VFW, and the Elks Club. Mr. Alford was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church for 50+ years. He retired from Bostitch-Stanley.

Mr. Alford was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Emma Alford and one brother, Hugh I. Alford. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Helen Luten Alford; a son, Craig Alford; a daughter, Cheryl Burnes (Dana); two grandchildren, Brittany and Brian Burnes.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M. Friday, June 14, 2013 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South, with Monsignor Vincent L. Haut of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, from 6:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. on Thursday, June 13th.
