Stratton's parents were Reuben Martin and Sarah Williams. Stratton married Hannah Martin on 10-16-1816 in Charlotte, Chittenden Co., VT. They moved to Essex Co., NY in 1828. In the mid-1840's they moved to Dunkirk, Dane Co., WI. Stratton served with Capt. I. Stone's company under General Hampton in the War of 1812.
