CHARLES MILTON KNIGHT 95, LOVING HUNSBAND, BELOVED SON, BROTHER AND UNCLE,
PASSED AWAY Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his home in Ashland, Oregon. He was born December 15, 1917 in Redlands, California to Sarah and Charles Knight. Charles graduated from Redlands High School in 1935. He attended John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, graduating in 1940 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Charles served as an officer in the United States Army Signal Corps during World War II. He was stationed on the Isle of Wight, south of South Hampton, England. Working with the British Navy, Charles was responsible for maintaining and repairing a high-level radar station. He was also stationed in the South Pacific Islands. After his military service, Charles worked as an electrical engineer for KTTV Channel 11, based out of Los Angeles, California. For over 25 years he maintained and re-built their television signal transmitter on Mt. Wilson, California. In 1963 Charles married Lucille Childers. They spent many years travelling all over the world. Eventually they retired to Ashland, Oregon and were active members in the Ashland First United Methodist Church. They enjoyed attending the "Super Senior" meetings. Charles is survived by a sister, Lois Leonard, of Redlands, California; sister Jean Barnaby of Lynden, Washington; brother Bob Knight of Redlands, California; brother Paul (wife Ruthie) Knight of Pioneertown, California; twenty nieces and nephews, and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. The memorial service for Charles will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Ashland First United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the church. Private interment will be in Hillside Memorial Park, Redlands, California. To know Chuck was to be blessed by his wonderful sense of humor and truly kind nature.
