Mrs. Jacobs was visiting her sister, Miss Kate Ellenbecker, near Marysville, when she suffered a stroke about two months ago. Recovered somewhat, she returned about three weeks ago to Tipton, where Miss Ellenbecker helped care for her until her death.
Mary Ellenbecker was born January 29, 1872, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ellenbecker, on a farm 1½ miles west of Marysville, and attended the Pleasant Ridge School. About 20 years ago, she was married to Mike Jacobs and moved to a farm two miles northwest of Tipton, her home since that time. Mr. Jacobs died about four years ago and since that time, Mrs. Jacobs had spent considerable time in Marysville.
Mrs. Jacobs is survived by one son, Herman, and one daughter, Mrs. Matt Moritz, both of Tipton; four brothers, John G. Ellenbecker and Joseph Ellenbecker, Marysville, Frank Ellenbecker, Topeka, and Louis Ellenbecker, Backus, Minn.; and two sisters, Mrs. Ann Bernadt and Miss Kate Ellenbecker, Marysville. All but Louis are attending the funeral.
