His awards include the Combat Infantryman Badge; Bronze Star; Purple Heart; Air Medal; National Defense Service Medal; U.S. Vietnam Service Medal (3 Stars); Civil Action Honor Medal; and Vietnam Campaign Medal. His unit won the Army Valorous Unit Citation with Oak Leaf Cluster; the Army Meritorious Unit Citation; and the RVN Gallantry Cross unit Citation; He also had a Parachute Basic Badge (Airborne). He was survived by his mother, Ellie Lang, and his wife and an infant child.
