Born in Conewago Twp., Adams County, on February 19, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Kieran and Emma (Neiderer) Small.
Mrs. Berwager served the Camp Hill area as an Avon Lady for many years and had previously been employed at the former Zinn's Bakery in Hanover. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Camp Hill.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Barbara Rider and Anita Schrader, both of McSherrystown, and Kay Hyde of Garden Grove, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Berwager of Lemoyne; many grandchildren; greatgrandchildren; a brother, Francis Small of Atlanta, Ga.; and two sisters, Louise Heiser of Hanover and Patricia Sneeringer of Edgegrove.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jean Tyler and Sally Groft; four sisters, Estelle Sipling, Grace Ernst, Doris Crawford, and Beatrice Berwager; and two brothers, Clair Small and Earl "Perk" Small.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Annunciation BVM Church, 26 N. Third St., McSherrystown. Viewing will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. The Rev. Lawrence Sherdel will serve as Celebrant.
