Robert M. Hussey, 87, of 107 Dow St., Carey, died at 11:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital of Upper Sandusky.
He was born Dec. 8, 1921, in Sycamore, to Walter and Clara (Montz) Hussey. He married Dorothy Valora Spitler Aug. 9, 1945, in Westerville, and she died Jan. 27, 1996.
Robert is survived by a daughter, Sandra (James) Ulrich of Petersburg, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel Hussey of Tiffin.
Others preceding him in death were two sons, Steve M. and Rick Hussey; a daughter, Kyle Hussey; four sisters, Mary Angel, Edith Neikirk, Phillis Simonis and Clara Louise Lydey; and four brothers, Harry, Earl, Burke and John Hussey.
Robert was owner/operator of Hussey's Service Station in Carey. He served from Oct. 4, 1943, to Oct. 31, 1945, with the Merchant Marines from New York.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Beach Funeral Home in Carey with the Rev. Marilin Miller officiating. Burial is at Spring Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
