**Although attached as image, very difficult to read, so transcribed, following: Chico Record, Tuesday, October 27, 1914, pg 1 col 4: Mrs. Ethelinda Scott, mother of C.F. Clendening of South Broadway died at the Clendening home Sunday afternoon after a short illness. Deceased was seventy-seven years old.
Mrs. Scott was born in New York state, May 28, 1837. She had lived here eighteen months. Death was caused by apoplexy.
The funeral will be held from the Clendening home at 2:30 this afternoon. Besides the son living in Chico, another son, E.D. Clendening, resides in Southern California.
