Amelia Borchers (nee Vogers) was born in Brounswick, Germany, Dec. 41st, 1831. She came to America in June 1858, locating in Platteville. She was married to Wm. Borchers, Sept. 29th, 1858, they living in Kendall township for a good many years, after which they resided near Darlington for three years. They then moved to Seymour, where they lived until they came to Shullsburg where they have made their home for the last sixteen years.
At the time of her death she was seventy eight years, seven months and nineteen days old. She died Aug. 19th at 7:30 pm and was buried from the Lutheran church in this city Aug. 22nd.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and seven children all of whom were present when the end came. They are as follows: Fred, William, Henry and Mrs. Bright of this city, Mrs. Herman Wurm of Ethan, S.D., Mrs. Jno. Footit and Mrs. Marshal Sampson of Carrington, N.D.
