OBITUARY.
Adam J. Baker was born June 10, 1843 in Morrow County, Ohio, and died October 26, 1907 in Topeka, Kansas. He had the misfortune of being very deaf, the effects of scarlet fever at the age of 7 years. For many years he has also been a sufferer from catarrh, which finally caused his death. He lived alone on a little farm a few miles southeast of Meriden for about 9 years. He sold it last spring and went to spend the summer with his brother D. B. Baker at the home of his niece Mrs. W. C. B. Herron in Topeka, at which place he died. While in Oklahoma visiting a daughter he was taken sick and returned to Topeka, Oct. 10, but never recovered. Deceased leaves five sisters, five brothers and two daughters.
Funeral services were held from the M. E. church at Meriden, conducted by Rev. Culpepper, the pastor, Sunday, Oct. 27, at 10:30 p.m. and burial in the Meriden cemetery.
