Dot was the daughter of Harvey Alexander Beatty and Katie Maud Head. She was the wife of Marvin Autry, whom she married Sep 14, 1938. Her husband was a Pender County Commissioner for many years and instrumental in passing many laws bringing much new business to the little fishing community of Hampstead. They also owned and operated a public boat dock until his passing. Their children were Myrna Louise Autry; Marvin Eugene Autry; and Sheila Autry.
