Walter J. Toothman of Bellflower died instantly when he drove his light car into the rear of trailer loaded with soil pipe on the Ocean-to-Ocean Highway in the Fontana district at 9:45 p.m. last night. The body was taken to the Ingold parlors in Rialto. Officers Olivas and Sikes of the state highway patrol investigated.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Ingold funeral home in Rialto for Walter J. Toothman, who was killed late Monday night in an auto-truck collision on the Valley Boulevard near Bloomington. He was 48, a native of Licking County, Ohio, resident of Bellflower and of California for 17 years. He was survived by his widow, Ida May Toothman, a brother, A. C. Toothman of San Bernardino, a sister, Mrs. Earl Claggett of Newark, Ohio, his mother, Mrs. Mary Toothman of Newark, a son, Albert and daughter, Ruth, both of Bellflower and two grandchildren.
