She married her loving husband, Gaylord Brewer, on Nov. 26, 1946, in Butte, and their only son, Ted, was born just three years later. They were happily married almost 60 years before Gay passed away in 2006. Their son, Ted, passed away in 2009.
Sue was hired in 1966 by School District 2 to work as a cook for Lincoln Junior High. She worked up to head cook and then, manager. She was so good at her job, she became an assistant director and then finally onto the director of food services. She retired from School District 2 in 1993 after 27 years of dedicated service.
Sue was an avid gardener and spent the summers carefully tending her rose bushes and other flowers in the yard. She was a fan of red geraniums and they always were beautifully displayed in pots around the house. Many barbecues were held in the back yard at the only house she ever lived in Billings on Avenue C, and most summer days you could find her and Grandpa sitting on the patio in the back yard with tall glasses of ice water watching their flowers grow.
Sue is survived by her daughter-in-law, Suzanne; her three grandchildren, Nancy, Barbara and Daniel; her 11 great-grandchildren, Lynea, Tonisha, Matias, Christian, Miquela, Tessa, Lucas, Marcos, Shaylin, Mason and Kenzie.
Cremation has taken place, and the family is planning a private burial at a later date.
Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
