Mr. Adams was originally buried in the Cleveland County Home cemetery located at the fairgrounds. On April 26th, 1994, his resting place was moved to its current location.

I am striving to identify this gentleman and and the 58 souls who share his grave. If you have any information to share please contact me.

Update: I recently ran across a book listing some of the ladies and gentlemen who lived in the home. Mr. Adams was found on page 7 of the book, but the only notes were his date of birth, date of death, and the fact that he was buried at the County grave yard. Perhaps with these dates we can find further info and give Mr. Adams a family.

In 1920 George Adams, his wife Hattie, 3 of their children - Corre, Daisy & Pete - were living on a rented farm in the Kings Mountain Township of Cleveland County, NC. 1930 found the couple on the same farm, this time with two 6-year-old granddaughters and a 19-year-old laborer. By 1940 Mr. Adams was a widower who had moved to the Cleveland County Home.
