In the early morning hours of June 7th, 2013, Judy Garza Reyna, age 84, ascended to heaven on the anniversary of her mother's birthday.

She was born in Galveston, Texas on April 21, 1929, to the late Gregorio Lopez Garza and Roberta Ochoa Garza. With her family, she moved to East end Houston and attended John R. Harris Elementary School. She married Larry M. Reyna in 1947 and they lived in Houston, Texas before relocating to South Houston, Texas in 1964.

Judy briefly worked as a dental assistant, but spent the majority of her life as a homemaker, caring for her family. She was a loving and kind woman, who accepted nearly everyone she met as family. She was known as a gracious hostess, an excellent cook, and her skills as a baker are family legend.

Judy was preceded in death by five of her siblings: Rodger Garza, Sally Garza Culver, Ike Garza, Albert Garza and Anita Garza Weatherford.

Remaining on earth to cherish her memory is her husband of 66 years, Larry M. Reyna, of South Houston, Texas; son Greg Reyna of Winder, Georgia; son Larry Reyna and spouse, Vera, of League City, Texas; sister Rosie Reyna, of South Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and the funeral service celebrating Judy's life will be at 10:00am on Thursday both held at Niday Funeral Home – Beamer Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale.
