From the Wilmington Advocate, Sep 17, 1886:
Mary, wife of James Gavican, of this township, died suddenly on Tuesday morning last at about 3 o'clock. The deceased had been married 46 years, and lived to the ripe age of 68. She leaves a widower, four sons, and one daughter - the latter being Mrs. Richard Dorsey - to mourn. The funeral took place from St. Rose's on Wednesday after a mass of requiem. So closed a busy life of industry and activity.
