DeLoris Benkert Aug. 15, 1918 - December 22, 1970

Funeral services for Mrs. Norman W. Benkert, 52 years of age, Monticello, who died
Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 22, in the St Clare hospital, Monroe, following a long illness, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Zwingli United Church of Christ here. The Rev. William Dushek, associate pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, Monroe, officiated, and burial was in Highland cemetery. Pallbearers were Darris Bidlingmaier,
Michael Bidlingmaier, Willis J. Disch, Werner T. Hefty, Monticello, Wayne Moore, Monroe, and Paul F. Schrepfer, Belleville.

DeLoris Alice Lunn was born in Bonesteel, S. D., Aug. 15, 1918, a daughter of Lewis E. and Gertrude Peterson Lunn. She graduated from Bonesteel high school in 1936. On Jan. 15, 1938, she was united in marriage to Norman W. Benkert, the ceremony taking place in Dubuque, Iowa. She had spent her entire married life in Monticello with the exception of 10 months in the west. Mrs. Benkert had been employed at Oaktron Industries in Monroe for about nine years, until she was forced to terminate her employment in 1969 because of her health. She had been hospitalized on five different occasions, last entering St. Clare hospital on Nov. 28. Mrs. Benkert was a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ here.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, both in the Air Force, Capt. Daniel D. Benkert, Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, Ariz., and Sgt. Frederick L. Benkert. McChord AFB, Tacoma, Wash.; two daughters, Norma Jean, employed in Madison, and Patricia, at home; one grandson, Troy Benkert; eight sisters, Mrs. Paul (Ida) Woerpel, Mrs. Clara Murray and Mrs. Lillian Thoene, Bonesteel, S. D., Mrs. Al (Mabel) Chambers, Mrs. Bessie Forchtner and Mrs. Oscar (Helen) Standy, Spokane, Wash. and Mrs. Ann Elmer, Monticello; and by two brothers, Arthur Lunn, Vancouver, Wash. and Edwin Lunn, Portland, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
