Richard G. Abare, 63, of Hudson, FL, died Saturday (May 26, 2001) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice House, Hudson, FL. Born in St. Johnsbury, VT, he was an 18 year resident of East Hampton, who had recently moved to Hudson, FL. He was a foreman for Hamilton Standard Division of United Technologies for 33 1/2 years. He served with the U.S. Army Occupational Forces, Germany. He was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron, Middletown; the Pattiaconk Yacht Club, Chester; and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, East Hampton and St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic Church, Hudson, FL. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Kimberly Abare Miner of Colchester; a brother, John Abare of Mobile, AL; five sisters, Mary Jane Abare of Los Angeles, CA, Pat Kaminski, Joyce Cunnane and Barbara Karzar, all of East Hartford; Karen Cansolmo of Old Saybrook; brother and sister-in-law, Mel and Judi Johnson of Columbia; brothers-in-law, Peter Kaminski of East Hartford, Robert Cansolmo of Old Saybrook; 11 nieces and nephews; eight grand nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass was held at St. Michael's the Archangel, Hudson, FL. Donations in his memory to: American Cancer Society and/or hospice house of your choice.
