MRS. W. E. ABELS DIES

Agnes V. McConnell was born May 14, 1849, at Barnesville, Ohio, where she spent her early life.

She passed away Friday, December 28, 1928, at the home of her son, Thomas Abels, south of Savannah. February 17, 1870, she was united in marriage to William E. Abels and to this union were born three daughters and three sons. They are: Mrs. Rachel Brown, Marvin, Mrs. Mattie Schwartz, Lothair, Mrs. Florrie Clowser, Emmet Abels, SL Joseph; W. J. Abels, Colorado Springs, and Thomas Abels, Savannah.

Mr.Abels and two other children preceded her in death.

In 1872 Mr. and Mrs. Abels came to Missouri where they lived the rest of their lives. In childhood she was baptized in the old school Presbyterian Church and lived an earnest Christian life.

She was a faithful wife, a good mother, and had many friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Breit Mortuary in charge of Rev. A. D. Seelig.

She was born in Barnesville, Belmont County, Ohio. She was the daughter of William H. and Elizabeth (Shannon) McConnell.

She maried William Edward Abels and to this union, they had six children: Olivia Rachel Abels (1873-1952), Emmett Lee Abels (1875-1953), Matilda Elizabeth Abels (1878-1940), William James Abels (1882-1949), Florida Emma Abels (1885-1967), and Thomas George Abels (1887-1972).

She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is buried at the Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, Andrew County, Missouri.
