JONATHAN S. AGEY was born in what is now White township, in 1811, and was a son of John and Nancy nee Dunwoody, who were natives of Maryland, and located in the county in 1810. John died in 1855, at the age of seventy-eight. The latter died in 1864. Jonathan and Mary Agey, the parents of John, died in Adams county; the former in 1804, at the age of fifty seven; and the latter in 1806. Their children were: Hannah, d., m. to Bleany Adair, d.; Nancy, d., m. to Stewart Henry, d.; Mary, d., m. to John Kerr, d.; John, d., m. to Nancy Dunwoody, d.; Robert, d., m. to Mary Gordon, d.; Jonathan, d., m. to Rebecca Matson, d.; and Eliza, d., m. to Samuel Trimble, d. John Agey's children were: Nancy Ann; John Sloan; Joseph C., m. to Sarah Springer; Robert T.; and Quincy A., m. to Catharine Wyke. John S., was a soldier in the war of 1861.
