Martin L. Doll, Sr., 82, of Jefferson, died Monday May 21, 2012 at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was the husband of Garnie E. (Burnett) Doll, with whom he celebrated a 61st wedding anniversary this past September 30.

Mr. Doll was born in North Codorus Township, a son of the late Elmer E. and Lizzie I. (Eyster) Doll. He retired in 2005 from Baum and Hersh, Inc., in Jefferson, where he was employed as a grinder for 15 years and prior to that had been a welder at the former Cole Steel Co. in York for over 39 years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, York, where he formerly served as a Deacon. He also enjoyed Bluegrass music, gardening and helping his brothers on their farms. He also loved his family and the times spent with them.

Besides his wife, he also leaves two daughters, Lorie Y. Runion and her husband James of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Kathy A. Betzel and her husband Les of York; a son, Martin L. Doll Jr. and Karen Logan of York; six grandchildren, Angela Eveler, Jacquie Fishel, Benjamin Runion, Jessica Cox, Rainie Werner and Sean Doll; three great-grandchildren, Shane Fishel, Sienna Fishel, and Hailey Werner; a sister, Mary Amspacher of Glen Rock; and a brother, Ray E. Doll of Spring Grove. He was predeceased by two brothers, John H. Doll and Seymour E. Doll.
