Carrie Mae Walker, 87, of Blountsville passed away on June 30, 2018. She was born on June 28, 1931 to Monroe and Aggie Lee Taylor Burgett. Mrs. Walk was a member of the Baptist Church in Grassy; she loved to cook and quilt in her younger days; loved to travel and read. Mrs. Walker is preceded in death by her husband, Talmage "Tubby" Walker; son in law, Larry Newman; parents, Monroe and Aggie Burgett; sister, Alvlene Dunn; She is survived by her children, Larry (Lou) Walker of Oneonta, Patsy (Joe D.) Pate of Blountsville, Jo Newman of Blountsville and Annette (James) Couch of Cullman; nine grandchildren, Eric Walker, Kimberly (Kerry) Weaver, Jason (Christy) Pate, Randall (Chrissy) Newman, Kristi (Heath) Adams, Dana (Jammey) Metz, Nicole (Brian) Segers, Johnny (Lindsay) Yarbrough and Donny (Rachel) Yarbrough; twenty-one great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Blountsville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Aaron and Bro. Jerry Hackney officiating. Burial will follow in the Roswell Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
