Vivian O. Davis, 96, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in a local nursing center. A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 8 at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor T.C. Melton officiating.
Vivian was born February 24, 1917 in Merkel, Texas to Virgil L. and Ada S. (McDaniel) Davis. She graduated from Merkel High School in 1935 and continued her education at Hardin-Simmons College.
Vivian was a member of Merkel First Baptist Church. She was a registered medical and x-ray technician for Sadler Clinic for over 50 years.
She loved playing Skip-Bo. She was also a giving, loving and caring person who loved her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include nephews, Bobby Pangle and wife Gay of Katy, Larry Moreland and wife Faye of Denver City; Wayne Davis and wife Tina of Clyde, Edward Haney of Arlington; nieces, Judy Fincher and husband Danny of Morganton, Georgia, Shirley Herpeche and husband Dee of Cresson, Betsy Moreland of Levelland; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Vernon and younger brother, Weldon Davis; sisters, Maurine Moreland and Ruth Pangle Buster; nephew, Donald Moreland; and niece Glenda Haney.
