He died at the hospital at Fort Scott on August 19, 1864. He was found on 1850 census in Cass county, Illinois, as Amos C. Richardson, age 12; with many other Richardsons, including a Jesse C. Richardson (1794-1866), who died at Rockport, Atchison county, Kansas. Amos Richardson married March 31, 1859 in Cass county, Illinois to Mary Ann Dofener.
