Edward M. Bergeson, 64, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday May 31, 2013 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday June 5, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Willer officiating. Burial will be at Corpus Christi Cemetery. The visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Edward is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughters, Karla (Dennis) Detmering; Jamie (Cody) Freeman; Tammy (Josh) Schroder, all of Fort Dodge; 8 grandchildren; brothers, James (Kay) Bergeson of Webster City; Dennis (Kathy) of Altoona; sisters, Nancy Blomgren of Stanhope, and Barbara (David) Hill of Ames. (Also his two wonderful dogs Minnie and Mickey).

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Hila (Gage) Bergeson, and his grandson Ryan Detmering.

Edward Martin Bergeson was born May 23, 1949 in Webster City. He attended school in Webster City, graduated from Webster City High School. He also attended the University of Northern Iowa. Following his education, Ed began working for the D.O.T. in Des Moines. Ed was united in marriage to Marilyn Lee on December 14, 1974, in Des Moines. In 1982 the family moved to Fort Dodge where he continued his employment with the D.O.T. retiring in 2010. Ed later began working part-time for the Fort Dodge School System as a school bus driver, which he greatly enjoyed doing. Edward was an avid sports fan, especially watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, he also loved spending time on his motorcycle. He cherished his family especially his grandchildren.
