A. Donald Coe, 86, of Peoria, formerly of Williamsfield, died at 7:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, at his residence.

Born Nov. 2, 1913, near French Grove to Royce Wycoff Coe and Margaret Jane "Jennie" White Coe, he married Clara Evelyn Hurlbutt on Oct. 11, 1940, in St. Joseph, Mo. She died Dec. 16, 1992.

Four brothers also preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Donna (and Bill) Hild of Stevensville, Mich.; two grandchildren, Heidi Hild of Stevensville and Edgar (and Kim) Hild of Sanford, N.C.; three nieces; and three nephews.

He attended Knox Conservatory of Music and sang with the Coe Brothers Quartet for many years.

A member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, he was an electrician for L.E. Meyers Construction, Central Illinois Light Co. and E.D. Edwards Construction, all in Peoria. He retired in 1975 and then worked as a farmer.

He was a member of Knox County Farm Bureau.

He also was a member of University United Methodist Church in Peoria and Williamsfield United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Williamsfield Cemetery.
