One Killed in Glasgow Bus Wreck. James Vig of Havre Sustains Broken Back and Dies in Hospital
Glasgow, July 11--James Vig of Havre, believed to be a Fort Peck dam worker, was killed and eight others injured when a bus enroute to the dam site ran off the grade near here Wednesday morning at 10:50 o'clock and rolled over three times in its fall down the embankment. The bus was owned by the Great Falls Coach Lines, Inc., and driven by Joe Galles, a relief driver.
Galles said the bus was crowded onto a soft shoulder of the new highway to Fort Peck by a car coming from the opposite direction. The accident occurred about a half mile east of Glasgow. The embankment over which the bus toppled was some 30 feet high.
Vig died from a broken back and shock, attendants at the Mary Savant hospital here reported.
He is survived by his widow at Havre, who immediately left for Glasgow. Vig died an hour after being admitted to the hospital.
