Carl Nauman

Carl Macon Nauman was born May 28, 1916 in Mercer, Missouri to Isaac Macon (Mick) and Nettie May (Ames) Nauman and died in his home in Osceola, Iowa August 5, 2006 at the age of 90.

Carl lived and farmed most of his life in the Leon area. He attended school and graduated from Blythedale, Missouri. He married Sylvia Marie Beasley on March 18, 1938 in Leon, Iowa. The lived in Washington DC for a brief period after their marriage where he worked as a typist for the government. They returned to the farm just north of Leon where they farmed for many years. Carl was a DeKalb Seed Corn Dealer for many years and loved poetry. He loved to read and recite Edgar A. Guest poetry and wrote hundreds of peoms for nearly every occasion in family and friends' lives.

Carl and Sylvia moved to Newton in 1999 and then returned to Southern Iowa to Osceola in 2001. Four children were born to this union, James Macon, Russell Allen, Marla Jean, and Carla Marie.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his brothers and sisters, Clara Warren, Laura Enfield, George Nauman, Mabel Osborn, Russell Nauman, Ralph Nauman, Helen Wilson, and Paul Nauman.

Surviving are his wife Sylvia Marie of Osceola, sons: Jim of Osceola and Russ of Osceola, duaghters Marla and husband Steve Willis of Leon and Carla and husband Dennis Sabin of Newton, 11 grandchildren: Mitch Nauman and wife Jolene of Clovis, NM, Russ Nauman and wife Diane of Des Moines, IA, Bev Carlo and husband Rick of Decatur, Chad Nauman of Des Moines, Lisa Nauman of Des Moines, Stessie and husband Cpt.
