Frank M. Fogelsonger, Partner In Shelby Flour Mills, Died Friday

The community was saddened last Friday morning when it learned of the passing of Frank M. Fogelsonger. 70, at his home in Shelby village, following an illness which had extended over a period of a number of months. Mr. Fogelsonger had been a resident of Shelby since 1920 during which time he had been associated in the operation of the Shelby Flour Mills with his brother-in-law, A1 H. Near, and had made a wide circle of acquaintances, all of whom knew him for a man of sterling worth. Mr. Fogelsonger was born Sept. 9, 1866 in Erie County, New York and came to MI with his parents when a small child. The family made their home in Macomb County where he lived until coming to Shelby 16 years ago. He was married to Annie Near on Nov. 28, 1897 and she with three daughters; one sister, one brother and seven grandchildren survive him. The children are Mrs. Allan Bankert of Valparaiso, IN., Mrs. Ezra Basinger of Bluffton, OH and Mrs. Fred Krause of Shelby. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at 2 o'clock from the Mennonite Church of which he was a faithful member. Rev. Peter Steiner of OH conducted the service and burial was made in the cemetery near the church.
