Edina Democrat, Edina, Missouri, January 19, 1906

Squire Comley, as he was most generally termed, was born in England, about 75 years ago, and moved to this county when a young man. He lived on a farm near Millport, in Knox county for a number of years, previous to his retiring and moving to Rutledge, where he was Justice of the Peace. Mr. Comley was a safe and impartial Judge of the law, and many suits were held in his court. Rutledge will feel the loss of this most honorable citizen very much. His wife preceded him in death just one year to the day. She dying from the effects of an operation in Keokuk, January 10, 1905. He dying January 10, 1906. He leaves six children, Mrs. A. E. McQuoid, of Memphis, this state, Mrs. J. W. Petty, and John R. Comley of this place and three sons, William, Joseph and George, of Montana, who arrived Saturday afternoon. May his reward in Heaven be as meritorious as his life was while among us.
