Blair, NE. Survived by sister, Lucille Wulf (Earl) of Blair; brother, Darrel Madsen, Sr. (Betty), Fremont, NE; sister-in-law Alice Madsen, Blair; and 18 nieces and nephews.
SERVICES 10am Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial in the Blair Cemetery.



Esther Madsen, 92, of Blair, died Friday, January 4, 2013, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Esther Madsen was born September 19, 1920, to Albert and Anna Madsen in Blair.

She attended Glendale Grade School.

She grew up on a farm and helped with the chores, and cared for her parents for many years. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt.

She was an excellent seamstress and made many things, even doll clothes for her two younger sisters.

She babysat for a family in Herman for two years, and worked as a cook in Herman and Blair for 10 years.

She was an avid flower gardener. For the last four years she resided at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Earl Wulf of Blair; brother and sister-in-law, Darrel Sr. and Betty Madsen of Fremont; sister-in-law, Alice Madsen of Blair; and 18 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert "Bud" Madsen; sister, Irma Bray; and nephew, Mark Madsen.

Memorials may be directed to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home or First Lutheran Church in Blair.
