Robert James Ringle, 82, died Sunday, May 23, 2010. Mr. Ringle was born in St. Joseph, MO, on February 16, 1928, son of the late Lloyd Clinton and Gladys Lorena Ringle. He lived in NC, OH, IL, MI, WI, and MO. He was a graduate of Michigan State College with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He was employed by The Dow Chemical Company for 34 years. He had served in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Ozbourn, DD-846.

Mr. Ringle moved to Fairfield Harbour in 1987 and was a member of the Fairfield Harbour Yacht Club. In the 1990s, he participated in annual fund drives for the United Way of Coastal Carolina. Prior to that, he served on the Boards of the Family Service Agency in Findlay, OH, and the YMCA of Edwardsville, IL.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ellen Eckerman Ringle; three children, Dean Ringle and wife, Mary Lou of Columbus, OH, Linda McGee of Santa Barbara, CA, and Sara Brenner and husband Paul of McLean, VA; and grandchildren, Kelly Doyle and Melanie Ringle of Columbus, OH, and Alec and Autumn Brenner of McLean, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Centenary United Methodist Church Chapel. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the memorial service.
