Bertie H. Alexander, 93 of Spring City died Monday, June 6, at Rockwood Health Care Center. Alexander was a lifetime resident of the Rhea County area and a graduate of Spring City High School. Before retirement, she was employed as a seamstress for Southern Silk Mills and was member of the Spring City Foursquare Church. She was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Alexander and Alice Heird Hicks, husband J. D. Alexander, brothers, Howard, Garland, Bruce, Glen and Will Hicks, sisters Bess Goodwin, Tenny Fiet, Nell Taylor and Ora Snyder. Survivors include sister-in-law Cecile McCabe Hicks of Hixson and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Wednesday, June 8, at 11 a.m. in Spring City Foursquare Church with Rev. David Witt officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Spring City Cemetery.
