Burke, James Joseph - Rosary will be recited today at 7:30 p.m. and Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. tomorrow, both services being held at St. Francis Catholic Church for James Joseph Burke, 77, 401 B. Street, who died October 21 in a Bakersfield hospital. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Patrick A. Leddy will officiate with private interment following in Union Cemetery. Mr. Burke, a native of Woody, lived in Bakersfield all his life. He was employed by the Standard Oil Co. of California as a supervisor of the manufacturing department 43 years. He was a member of St. Francis Church and the Petroleum Production Pioneers. Survivors include the widow, Josephine; a daughter Sally Rainey, Whittier; a son James L. Burke, Bakersfield; a sister Teresa Burke, Wasco; 3 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Kern County Cancer Society. Pallbearers will be Lawrence King, Robert Spawn, Lawrence Evenson, Bruce Murray, Lee Timberlake, and Odis Freeman. Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara Directors
