Adelaide was the widow of Roger P. Annan who had died three years before she died. They lived on Plant Avenue in Webster Groves in a very large old house with spacious grounds in those days.
After Adelaide and Roger died, their son Edward and their two daughters who never married, continued to live in the old house, into their 80s. After the two sisters died in the 1960s, the old house was torn down. There was so much room on the old property that three new houses were able to be built in place of the old Annan house on the very large grounds.
