MONTICELLO….Funeral services for Anna G. Bartels, 79, were held at 1:30 p.m. Jan 12 at St. Matthew Lutheran church. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery. The Rev. Harold Naig Officiated.
Mrs. Bartels died at John McDonald hospital Wednesday, Jan. 10, after an illness of several weeks.
She was born at Monticello, April 6, 1893, the daughter of John and Marie Schmidt Otten. She received her early education in area schools. On Dec. 30, 1913, she was married to Fred Bartels.
She and her husband made their home in Delaware County, where they farmed. They moved to the Monticello area in 1944. Mr. Bartels preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1968.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Gerhard (Bertha) Hansen, Monticello; two grandchildren, and a brother, Otto Otten, Monticello
