Charles Bardo, Widely-Known Taftian,Dies Charles A. Bardo, 88, of 119 Lucard st. passed away on June 2l. Born in Carnegie, Penn., on July 4, 1875, Mr. Bardo had been a resident of California for 55 years and of the West Side for the past 49 years. He was a retired oil worker for Standard Oil Company. Mr. Bardo was well known here as a baseball player in the early days of Taft and the Midway Oil Field and was an ardent baseball fan all his life. He was a member of the parish of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Spanish American War veteran and served with Company C,the 14th Pennsylvania Regiment in Cuba. A Rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o'clock at the Erickson and Brown Chapel. and a Requiem Mass will he offered at St. Mary's Catholic Church tomorrow at 9 a.m.with Fr. John McKee officiating. Interment will follow in the West Side District Cemetery Mr. Bardo is survived by a son, Charles H. Bardo, of Taft.
