Young Mother Dies
Mrs. Chris Dekker (nee Grace Van Beek) of Alton, died Thursday noon of a heart attack.
She had been ill for the past 28 months with a heart ailment and complications but had been cheerful in spite of her afflictions.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 30 in the First Reformed Church with Rev. H. Colenbrander offiating. Burial was in the Orange City cemetery with A. D. Van Etten in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dekker was born May 2, 1911 at Orange City.
Surviving are her husband and two children, Dorothy and John Marvin both at home, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Van Beek of Orange City, four sisters, Tena, Mrs. Henry Gerritsen of Hudson. S. D., Mrs. Wm. De Vos of Hudson, S.D. Alice and Darlene at home and two brothers, Bernard of Bolivar, Wis. and John A. Jr. of Orange City.
