He had lived in West Columbia for 38 years where he was a member of Brookland Methodist Church. He was a retired meat market operator.He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sallie Robertson Swygert; two sons. R. M. Swygert of West Columbia and J. B. Swygert of Columbia; three sisters, Mrs. J. C. Koon and Mrs. H. E. Harmon of Irmo, and Mrs. A. R. Harmon of West Columbia; a brother, A. F. Swygert of West Columbia, and three grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning from Thompson's Funeral Home by the Rev. John M. Younginer, pastor of the Brookland Methodist Church, and the Rev. T. A. Snyder, pastor of West Columbia Baptist Church.Published in The Columbia Record Friday December 23, 1938
