Hershel Edward "Buck" Slagle was born August 1, 1924 and departed this life Thursday, May 28, 2015 reaching the age of 90 years. He was the son of the late Moah and Ollie (Morgan) Slagle.
He married Nina Bertram and to this union two children were born.

He is survived by: two daughters, Rita Brown (Bobby) of Lexington, KY and Gaylon McGinnis of Monticello, KY; three grandchildren, Ricka Palmisano, Shannon Evans and Adrian Brown; and three great grandchildren, Julian Palmisano, Reece Evans, and Sloan Evans. He is also survived by: two brothers, Warren and Jason Slagle; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Moah and Ollie Slagle, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Nina Slagle; five brothers, Caleb, Lester, Lee, Jim, and Fletcher Slagle; and one sister, Dicamae McGlocklin.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, 2015 after 6 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
