Mr. Peterson retired from Hoover Ball in 1983 following 23 years of service.
He was a charter member of Hulen Avenue Baptist Church where he was chairman of the board of deacons and had taught the Adult Men's Sunday School Class for a number of years. Mr. Peterson was a member of the Executive Board of the Holston Baptist Association.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna Laughrun Peterson; two daughters, Teresa Whitson of Erwin and Kim Blankenstein of Johnson City; two sons, Steven Peterson of Bluff City and Tim Peterson of Jonesborough; one sister, Rissie Bailey of Colo; two brothers, Philmore Peterson of Erwin and Guy Peterson of Atlanta. *Source- Johnson City Press, March 5, 1994, Page 2
