"James Gibson [sic] Gooch, gallant old soldier of the Southern Confederacy, died in Covington last night.
During the Civil War, Mr. Gooch served under General George Washington Custis Lee, a son of the great Commander of the Southern Army.
When his funeral takes place Sunday at 2:30, a firing squad and Acting Bugler Judy will do the honors at the grave, firing three volleys and sounding taps.
