Services for Gilbert K. Aderton, a resident of Maple Grove Lodge, Louisiana, were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Collier Funeral Home with the Rev. Edwin Hampton in charge. Organist was Mrs. A.W.Luke. Burial was made in Vandalia Cemetery.
Mr. Aderton, 89, died April 19, 1979 in Pike County Hospital. He was born Nov. 27, 1889 in Batchtown, Il., to Henry M. and Nancy Elizabeth Douglas Aderton. His marriage to Bertie McDowell took place Dec 22, 1909 at Wellsville. She preceded him in death in 1978. Mr Aderton was a farmer in the Vera community before his retirement when he moved to Louisiana.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Doris Hall, Eolia and Mrs. Wilma Griffith, Louisiana; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great, great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Thomas Aderton; and a sister, Mrs. Eliza Amos.
