Mrs. Daniel was the daughter of Henry Morris Abernathy and Lula Belle Young Abernathy. As a young girl, she worked in the fields picking cotton and other crops. As a young woman, she and her sisters, worked at Shaw's Laundry, then later in the laundries at Camp Bowie during World War II. She was married to Nix J. Daniel, of Dublin, on Feb. 28, 1942. After almost 31 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1973. Although primarily a homemaker, many may remember her from when she worked at the Brownwood Woolen Mills in Camp Bowie during the years of 1960 - 1970.
Mrs. Daniel passed away in Brownwood, Texas. She was the last of nine children. She had five brothers and three sisters: Henry Morris Abernathy Jr.; Luther Patrick "L.P." Abernathy; her twin brothers, Elma Ray Abernathy and Vernon Earl Abernathy; Martha Pearl Harwell; Birdie Lee Robinett and Audie Bee Sheppard. Thelma Faye has gone home, and they are all together now.
