Ambrose Lewis Teague was the only child of Michael Teague & second wife, Sarah C. Quillian, who were married on Nov 13, 1851 in Gilmer Co, GA. Sarah was d/o Daniel & Matilda Quillian, one of the first families to settle in Gilmer Co. In 1850 census, Michael Teague is a widower with two sons & one daughter. Michael & Sarah Teague were still living in 1880; their dates of death & burial locations are unknown.

Ambrose Lewis Teague was married twice:
First marriage was to Nancy E. Chastain on Aug 21, 1873, Gilmer Co, GA; Bk 2, Pg 349. They had six children. Nancy Chastain was d/o Rev. Joseph Pearson Chastain & his second wife, Mary Hunnicut.

Second marriage was to Mary Elizabeth Sawyer on Aug 6, 1889, Gilmer Co, GA; Bk 3, Pg 420.
