He graduated from Weston High School. He entered the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1942 and was discharged in 1945. A cook during the conflict, he reenlisted and served until he retired in 1964. During World War II he served in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany. He married Opal Chappell August 8, 1959. They had no children.
