Funeral Services Held Tuesday Afernoon From Son's Home
Funeral services were held at 5:30 Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Nancy Haire, 69, a resident of Ozona for 16 years, who died Monday morning at 10:45 after an illness of several months.
Services were conducted from the home of a son, Odie Haire, with the Rev. Ellery, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Sonora, officiating, Rev. Clyde Childers, past or the Ozona church, being absent from the city. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, with Oberkampf's funeral directors, in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were O. W. Smith, J. T. Keeton, Claude Pharr, Leo Bawcom, Ceecil Hubbard and M. E. Corbell.
Mrs. Haire was born August 6, 1874 in Llano County. She was married March 24, 1894, to W. H. Haire in Granger, Texas. Mr. Haire died here January 8, 1941 and is buried in Cedar Hill Cemetry.
Mr. and Mrs. Haire, with their children, moved to Ozona in 1929 coming here from Roscoe, Texas. Mr. Haire was employed on various ranches in this section until his death.
Surviving are ten children, eight sons and two daughters. Ther surviving children include Odie, Elmer and Elbert Haire and Mrs. Sam Houston, all of Ozona, William and Wayne Haire of McLean, Texas, Newel Haire of Dallas, Clarence Haire of New Boston, Texas Arvel Haire of Deport, Texas and Mrs. Lila Mae Jones of Clarksville, Texas. Also surviving are three brothers and one sister, 28 grand children and one great grand child.
