A funeral service for Beatrice Q. Young, 81, of Newark, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service, with the Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Young, a homemaker, died Feb. 15, 2004, at the Newark Healthcare Centre. She was born March 27, 1922, in Three Forks, W.Va., to the late Lee and Oma (Dillo) Johnson.

She is survived by three sons, Paul David (Darlene) Queen of Granville, Danny Lee (Sue) Queen and Lawrence Casey Queen, all of Newark; two daughters, Deanna (Leland) Patterson of Brooklyn, Ohio and Patricia (Wayne) Newlin of Hebron; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Jo (Larry) Rowe of Michigan, and Evelyn Mullins of Cleveland; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Hansford C. Queen, on Dec. 6, 1974; by her second husband, Edward N. Young, on Dec. 28, 1979; by three sons, Mickey Thomas Queen, Colin Kelly Queen and Roger Dale Queen; by a daughter, Bernadine Cwiklinski; a grandson; and by a brother, Lee Johnson Jr.Friends may call from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 59 N. Fifth St.
