He was born on Jan. 19, 1915, in Fletch, Okla., to Elsie and Barney B. Blue.
Mr. Blue graduated from high school in Fletcher. He went to pharmacy school at Cameron University. After he graduated, he worked in Amarillo, Carlsbad and Portales.
He met and married Belinda Sikes in Portales.
Mr. Blue served in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II, as a chief pharmacist's mate aboard the USS Cavalier.
He returned to Portales and worked at Portales Drug until he purchased College Drug Store. Mr. Blue retired in 1993 after serving 50 years as a pharmacist.
He was an avid supporter of local sports and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Blue was a member of the Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joe Sterling Blue; an infant sister; and his wife of 60 years, Belinda, who died May 12, 2001.
Mr. Blue is survived by three sons, Barney Blue of Norman, Okla., and Buddy and Benton Blue, both of Portales; three daughters, Jan Blue-Shelton, Carol Radosevich and Connie Blue, all of Albuquerque; two brothers, Alfred J. Blue of Navasota, Texas, and Eddie D. Blue of Fletcher, Okla.; one sister, Cora Lee "Babe" Moser of Cyril, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Third and Kilgore Church of Christ.
David Bennett will officiate with Buddy Blue assisting.
Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Blue, Bob Sikes, Jimmy Sikes, Kyle Blue, Gene Moser and Whitsel Moser.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.
